Estephania Candelo is a PGY1 at UW. Originally a physician from Colombia, she pursued two master's degrees at University College London with a focus on translational science and genetics. She is one of the research advisors at the Global Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Initiative, where she spearheads the Research Mentorship Program. In addition, Estephania has worked at a center specializing in rare diseases, leading various advocacy and policy-making projects for populations with disabilities and co-directing a Master's program in Disabilities and Human Rights. Her primary research interests encompass gender equity in otolaryngology and the integration of new technologies, such as OMICS and artificial intelligence, into the ENT field
