Karen Tawk, MD is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, Irvine. She graduated from Medical School at Université Saint-Joseph, Beirut, Lebanon in July 2021. She decided to move to the US to pursue research, specifically in ENT.
Dr. Tawk is currently working under the mentorship of Dr. Hamid Djalilian and Dr. Mehdi Abouzari. Her research focus is on the link between hearing/vestibular disorders and migraine. She’s also working on a novel treatment for tinnitus and Meniere's disease.
Dr. Tawk aspires to become a Physician-Scientist and is planning to apply for Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Residency in the US this cycle. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and traveling.
