Minka Schofield, MD, MPH, FAAOA, FACS is a Professor, Director of the General Otolaryngology Division, Medical Director of Surgical Operations and Quality, and Vice Chair of DEI in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She is Board Certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is a fellow of The American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. Her servitude to the AAO-HNS has been demonstrated by her contributions on various committees including the General Otolaryngology Education Committee, the Women in Otolaryngology Programs Committee, and the Annual Meeting Program Advisory Committee. in addition to serving as the Chair of the WIO Section from 2023-2024. She has also served as a WIO Member-At- Large and the Historian. She is the newly appointed Chair of the AAO-HNS Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Her academic interest is in patient safety and quality improvement demonstrated by her leadership on many quality committees and initiatives within her institution. Specifically, she has been instrumental in formulating protocols for airway safety and emergent airway processes. As an academic physician, she has contributed to changing the landscape of medicine as the past Co-Chair for the Ohio State University College of Medicine Admissions Committee and past Chief of Staff of University Hospitals within the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
