Pete S. Batra, MD, FACS currently serves as the Chairman of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He holds the Stanton A. Friedberg, MD Endowed Chair in Otolaryngology and is a Professor in Rush Medical College. He is the Director of the Rush Sinus, Allergy, and Asthma Center and also serves as Chair of the Rush University Medical Group Finance Committee. Dr. Batra currently serves as the Presdent of the American Rhinologic Society. Dr. Batra completed his internship and residency training at Northwestern University and then pursued fellowship training in rhinology and skull base surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. He has co-authored more than 220 peer-reviewed articles, invited reviews, and book chapters and delivered over 400 lectures nationally and internationally on sinus disease and minimally invasive skull base surgery. His academic distinctions include American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Distinguished Service Award (twice), Best Doctors of America, the Cleveland Clinic Innovator Award, and Cleveland Clinic Head and Neck Institute Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Batra is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a fellow of the Triological Society, American College of Surgeons and American Rhinologic Society.
