Dr. Mims is a Professor of Otolaryngology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine (Wake Forest Baptist Health) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He attended Emory University for college and UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine. He completed residency at Wake Forest University in Otolaryngology in 2000 and is board certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery since 2001. He chaired AAO-HNS Committee on Allergy, Immunology, and Asthma for several years. He served on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA), as the AAOA Coordinator for Education, and as President of the AAOA (2016-17). He is currently on the Editorial Board of International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology and the Associate Editor for Allergy and International submissions for Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He has been involved with Clinical Practice Guidelines for the AAO-HNS and served as the Asstiant Chair for "Opioid Prescribing for Analgesia after Common Otolarynogology Operations" and "Immunotherapy".
