Dr. Pinto is a Professor and Director of Research in the Section of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of the Department of Surgery at The University of Chicago. He completed his MD at Stanford University and residency and fellowship training at the University of Chicago, joining the faculty in 2004. Dr. Pinto’s clinical practice centers on endoscopic approaches to the upper airway, including inflammatory disease and anterior skull base tumors. His NIH/NIA-funded research investigates risk factors for olfactory and airway disorders in a multi-faceted program involving approaches from epidemiology, gerontology, environmental/population health, and genetics. He also serves as Vice Dean of Faculty Affairs in the Biological Sciences Division.
