Carol Lewis, MD MPH is a Professor of Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she also serves as Associate Chief Patient Experience Officer. Her patient experience role includes serving on the institutional grievance committee, overseeing a provider communication skills program, and working with an appeals committee for the star ratings program, among other projects. She developed and leads her department’s Enhanced Recovery program, and her area of academic interest is quality improvement, including access to care. In addition to research in quality improvement, she has studied head and neck cancer survivorship trends using both national and institutional data.
