Kelly Reavis, PhD, MPH is an epidemiologist and licensed audiologist with nearly 20 years of auditory research experience at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Rehabilitation Research & Development, National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research located in the VA Portland Health Care System. Her career has been rooted in the pursuit of understanding and improving hearing health among military Service members, Veterans, and aging adults. Her primary focus lies in investigating the risk factors and distribution of auditory dysfunction within these populations, encompassing both immediate threats like noise and ototoxic agents, as well as the broader social determinants that contribute to poor auditory health and the under-treatment of hearing loss and tinnitus. Her research has been published in numerous scientific journals and she is considered an expert in the field of hearing loss epidemiology.
