Howard Ritz, DMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, is the current president of the Society of PAs in Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and practices comprehensive otolaryngology at Albany Med Health System - Glens Falls Hospital in upstate New York, where he also serves as the Associate Chief Medical Informatics Officer. He obtained his Doctor of Medical Science degree from AT Still University with a concentration in education. Dr. Ritz received the capstone excellence award for developing a competency-based workplace curriculum for PAs entering otolaryngology. His research interests include enhancing physician assistants' training and professional development in otolaryngology. In addition to clinical and research activities, he has authored several peer-reviewed articles, including "Pinning down the Cause of a Chronic Cough" and "Evaluating Patients with Vertigo," both published in the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (JAAPA). Furthermore, he contributed to the clinical practice guideline on immunotherapy for inhalant allergies, published in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Ritz serves as the AAPA Liaison to the AAO-HNS.
