Ladan Navari is a first-year otolaryngology-head and neck surgery resident at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Born and raised in Iran, she obtained her Bachelor in Science in Biochemistry with honors from the Ohio State University, where she later obtained her medical degree as well. Some of Ladan's research interests include investigating the diagnostic modalities and surgical interventions for management of the upper esophageal sphincter dysfunction, characterization and treatment of the velopharyngeal dysfunction, improvement of tracheostomy outcomes for adult and pediatric population, and assessing novel word learning among children with impaired hearing. Furtheremore, Ladan is heavily involved in various mentorship programs and is passionate about advocacy. When she is not doing research or volunteering, she is most likely trying new food, spending time with family and friends, writing poems, dancing, or creating artwork.
