Nadine I. Ibrahim, MD, is a rising PGY-5 in the Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Department at the University of Michigan. She graduated with Honors from the School of Communication at Northwestern University with a BS in Human Communication Sciences. She then worked in the Middle East as a journalist with a focus on public health prior to pursuing her MD at the University of Michigan Medical School, where she received a competitive Deans Merit full scholarship for outstanding potential for leadership in medicine. She was elected President of Alpha Omega Alpha and inducted to the Gold Humanism Honor Society prior to graduating with Distinction. As a resident, she was elected to serve on the Graduate Medical Education Committee providing oversight of all accredited training programs at the University of Michigan, as well as serving on the Executive Board for the House Officers Association. Her involvement in undergraduate and graduate medical education has allowed her to serve on several undergraduate medical education committees advising on curricular changes and educational policy. She was awarded an AAO-HNSF Resident Research Award CORE grant for her research, focusing on investigating the impact of Single-Sided Deafness on listening behavior by analyzing compensatory head movements and binaural acoustical cues when compared to individuals with normal hearing. She has applied for Otology-Neurotology fellowship.
