Benjamin D. Malkin, MD is an attending in the Kaiser Permanente East Bay Head & Neck Surgery Department. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH and undertook his medical studies at Mount Sinai, remaining there for his residency training in Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery. From 2009 to 2017, Dr. Malkin served as Regional Director of the Queens Health Network (New York City Health + Hospitals) Department of Otolaryngology and Associate Residency Program Director at Mount Sinai. For the past 2 years he has been Residency Program Director for the Kaiser Permanente Nothern California Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery program. Dr. Malkin’s interests include medical student and resident education, patient safety, quality improvement and the incorporation of teamwork and Lean tools in healthcare. He is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, along with the American College of Surgeons and the Society of University Otolaryngologists.
