Jennifer Brooks, MD, MPH, FACS is an Assistant Professor in Otolaryngology at University of Rochester School of Medcine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York, having joined the faculty at the start of 2021. Dr. Brooks has dual fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology and Thyroid & Parathyroid Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital and Massachusetts Eye and Ear/ Harvard Medical School, respectively, following residency training and medical school at University of Southern California.
With designations in the Pediatric Otolaryngology and Endocrine Surgery divisions at UR Medicine and Golisano Children's Hospital, Dr. Brooks’ practice merges her subspecialties, with a focus in thyroid surgery for adults and children, as well as management of pediatric head and neck masses, aerodigestive issues and general pediatric ear, nose and throat conditions in kids. She aims to provide evidence-based, collaborative, and compassionate care to her patients and families.
She is board certified in Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery, earned her sub-certification for Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology and maintains a high-volume thyroid and parathyroid surgery practice. Her research interests include the management of pediatric thyroid conditions, evaluation of outcomes for thyroglossal duct cyst surgery, recurrent laryngeal nerve invasion in the setting of thyroid carcinoma, and shared-decision making in management of thyroid nodules. Dr. Brooks is a member of the medical school admissions committee for the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and serves on the editorial board for the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology.
