Dr. Margaret Mitchell (MD, MS-HPEd) is a PGY-5 Resident in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Harvard Medical School/Mass Eye and Ear. She grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a degree in economics. Subsequently, she matriculated at the Vanderbilt School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and graduated with a Certificate of Distinction in Biomedical Ethics.
While at Vanderbilt, she concurrently earned a Masters of Health Professions Education from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions with a focus in policy and management. As a part of her thesis, she conducted research on the development and assessment of surgical skills in Kenya under the mentorship of Dr. James Netterville. Dr. Mitchell’s primary research interests include healthcare policy, graduate surgical education, and the impact of pollutants on sinonasal health. She enjoys writing and is looking to explore creative writing opportunities, and will be pursuing Rhinology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania after graduation.
