Dr. Susan Pitt is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan and Director of Endocrine Surgery Research. Dr. Pitt’s clinical practice focuses on surgical treatment of thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal diseases. Dr. Pitt’s research lab is funded by the National Cancer Institute and aims to reduce overtreatment of low-risk cancer which puts patients at risk for harm without improving length of life. Dr. Pitt received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and her Master’s degree in Population Health Science from Washington University in St. Louis. She also completed her general surgery residency at Washington University in St. Louis and an Endocrine Surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
