Lumei Liu, PhD, is a research scientist in the Center for Regenerative Medicine at Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Prior to joining Nationwide Children's, Lumei Liu completed his master’s degree in biology and Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University. After that, he became a post-doctoral scientist at Nationwide Children's research institute. After 3 years, Dr. Lumei Liu became a research scientist so she can continue her research in the same area. Her research interests include investigation the function of tracheal components, the design and development of tissue-engineered tracheal grafts, and preclinical evaluation of tissue engineered tracheal grafts using small and large animal models.
