Dr. Kyle Hatten is the Chief of Head & Neck Surgery in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery and Director of the Multi-Disciplinary Head & Neck Cancer Program at the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Dr. Hatten went onto complete his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He continued his surgical training at the University of Pennsylvania by completing a fellowship in head and neck oncology, microvascular reconstruction, and robotic surgery.
His areas of expertise include the surgical management of malignant and benign tumors of the head and neck including cancers of the oral cavity, pharynx, and larynx; tumors of the paranasal sinuses; tumors of the salivary glands; and cutaneous malignancies including melanoma of the head and neck. Dr. Hatten is trained to perform complex reconstruction of head and neck defects using microvascular free flap techniques.
Dr. Hatten is actively involved in research focused on head and neck clinical trials, human papillomavirus-associated oropharyngeal cancer, and quality of life outcomes after surgical treatment.
