Dr. Eugene "Dr. Gene" L. Alford MD FACS is an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital and an Associate Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology at Weill Cornell Medicine as well as an Adjunt Associate Professor of Plzastic Surgery and Otolaryngology at Texas A&M Intercollegiate College of Medicine (ENMED). Dr. Alford is board-certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOto) and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS), in addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). With his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX, Dr. Alford has had a well-rounded Texas education, which earned him his State of Texas Medical license in 1987. Dr. Alford has served as an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Ototlaryngolgoy- Head and Neck Surgery and The American Board of Facail Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Alford has Practiced in Full time Academic Medicine in the teaching of Resident.0s and medical students since 1992 at Houston Methodist Hospital. In additon to clinical teaching and the care of patients. Dr. Alford is the Principal Clincal Investigator in a National Scince Foundation Grant designed to develop the ability to perform remote examination of patients via palpation of head and neck anatomy using compter generated haptics, fondly referred to as the Rubberhand Project. Dr. Alford has been marreid to Mary Alford for 40 years and is the proud father of 3 children and 2 grandchildren
