PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Skukll base diseases are rare. Surgery plays a key role in their management. The advances in endoscopic surgery have revolutionized the management of skull base lesions. Many complex lesions that traditionally required open approaches are now amenable to purely endoscopic
endonasal resection, providing less invasive surgery with lower morbidity but with comparableclinical outcomes. The absence of facial/cranial
incisions and osteotomies, decreased hospitalization time, improved visualization of lesion borders, and reduced morbidity and
mortality rate are the major advantages of endoscopic techniques in comparison to traditionalexternal approaches. The participants of the session will discuss principles of surgical management of skull base lesions, review the techniques of both endonasal
endoscopic surgery of anterior skull base lesions, complications and highlight the importance of proper management of patients with these complex lesions. Especially the limits of endoscopic surgery in skukll base lesions will be the main topics, including pediatric ones. The speakers will share their experiences from different European centers.

Learning Objectives:

Analyze current status of management anterior skull base lesions.
Demonstrate the efficacy of treatment of anterior skull base disease using up to date approaches.
Explain the effort to keep treatment morbidity as low as possible while having sufficient clinical results.
