PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Otolaryngologists are seeing increasing numbers of patients with smell disorders, due to both the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the increased awareness in the lay population surrounding the importance of smell and taste. With a wide range of underlying etiologies including post-viral, traumatic, tumor related, endocrine, metabolic, autoimmune and neurodegenerative disease states, it can be difficult for otolaryngologists and rhinologists to know what to do. There is also a lot of disinformation in the media and online about treatments for this increasingly common condition. This case based panel discussion allows the audience to listen to world experts in smell dysfunction discuss workup and treatment for the most common underlying etiologies, as well as ask the moderator and panelists for real world advice regarding patients they are trying to help in their own clinics.

Learning Objectives:

Recognize the most common underlying etiologies for smell loss or dysfunction beyond COVID-19.
Implement the necessary work-up and testing for patients with smell disorders.
Compare the different treatment options for smell disorders and utilize them appropriately in practice.
