Medical Student
Tufts University School of Medicine
A third-year medical student, Christian Kabongo has invested in his passion for community-oriented healthcare. As the previous Community Service Chair of the Otolaryngology Interest Group at Tufts University School of Medicine, he has worked diligently in exploring how to expand community service efforts in Otolaryngology. By facilating a partnership with Boston Community Pediatrics, a free health clinic for underserved pediatric patients and families, Mr. Kabongo aims to establish a longitudinal partnership with the clinic that will provide medical students at Tufts an opportunity to care for patients in the Boston area through providing free vision and hearing screenings as well as support these patients holistically. He has also been dedicated to improving patient care through his research in the Department of Otolaryngology at Tufts Medical Center and his work as a Winn CIPP Scholar at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center as he has worked on different projects on sinonasal malignancies. Mr. Kabongo plans to continue his work in clinical research and community-oriented work to best understand how to improve specialty-care and clinical research for communities of diverse backgrounds.
