Stephanie Shintani Smith, MD, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Her clinical practice focuses on surgical and medical management of sinonasal and salivary gland diseases. Her research expertise is in rhinosinusitis clinical, translational, health services, and outcomes research. Her formal research training includes a T-32 NRSA postdoctoral fellowship, Master’s Degree in Health Services and Outcomes Research, and completion of the Northwestern University Patient-centered Intervention and Engagement Training K12 Program. She investigates utilization of health services by patients with rhinosinusitis, and how biological factors, social factors, medical technology, and personal behaviors affect health in patients with rhinosinusitis.
