PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The panelists will discuss the state-of-the-art management of both common and rare pediatric, airway lesions in the hospital and out-patient setting. They will outline their diagnostic approach to pediatric airway problems such as laryngomalacia and will address the surgical management of severe laryngomalacia including both laser and cold steal approaches. They will discuss the endoscopic management of other congenital and acquired cysts and lesions including subglottic and vallecular cysts and will discuss the comprehensive surgical management of subglottic stenosis ranging from endoscopic lysis and balloon dilation to endoscopic posterior costal cartilage grafting. They will also discuss the medical and surgical approach to laryngotracheal clefts and aspiration and will also include a detailed discussion of the aerodigestive team management of pediatric airway disorders including the role of the speech and swallowing therapist. Participants will be able to perform basic procedures on 3-D printed simulation models of several disease pathologies including laryngotracheal clefts, subglottic stenosis and laryngomalacia.

Learning Objectives:

To understand which pediatric airway pathologies are amenable to endoscopic airway surgery.
To understand the aerodigestve management of pediatric airway problems.
To practice endoscopic airway surgery using 3 D printed laryngeal models including cleft repair, stenosis dilation and others.
