Cristina M Baldassari MD currently serves as a professor in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology in 2010. She is board certified in both otolaryngology and sleep medicine. Her clinical practice focus is in pediatric ear nose and throat conditions and sleep disorders and primary research interest is in pediatric obstructive sleep apnea. She has numerous publications in this field and have presented nationally on this topic. She is currently researching the complex relationship between sleep apnea and quality of life in children. She has also been investigating the role of novel biomarkers in the evaluation of pediatric sleep apnea. She has had the opportunity to serve on several AAO-HNS committees including chair of the Sleep Disorders Committee and is currently the chair-elect for the Board of Governors.
