Dr. Islam Herzallah is currently a Professor & Consultant of Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at King Abdullah Medical City, Makkah, KSA, as well as at Zagazig University, Egypt. Dr. Herzallah has finished his Otolaryngology residency training at Zagazig University, Egypt in 2004, and then two-year scholarship & training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at the University of Miami, USA in 2007.
• Ph.D. Degree with description of Extended Endoscopic Endonasal Approaches (2009).
• Founding Member of the Pan-Arab Rhinologic Society (2010)
• Over 150 worldwide lectures and international publications that include novel descriptions of Endoscopic Sinus and Skull Base Surgical Landmarks and Techniques.
• Speaker and Instructor at more than 50 endoscopic sinus & skull base surgery courses worldwide.
• Editor & Author of the “Endoscopic Sinonasal Dissection Guide”, one of the best-selling books for teaching surgical techniques for residents, rhinology fellows, and physicians worldwide (Casiano, Herzallah & Eloy eds., 2017 - Thieme Medical Publishing, NY).
• Reviewer for top peer-reviewd Journals including the Official Journal of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, and the Official Journal of the American Rhinologic Society.
• Several Awards & Prizes: Best Research in Pan-Arab Rhinologic Society (2010), Who's Who in the World (2011), University Best Professional Portfolio (2012). KAMC Employee of the Year (2015), Karl Storz Award for Excellence in Teaching (2018).
