Chelsea S. Hamill, MD is an assistant professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She graduated from Lafayette High School in St. Louis, MO. She attended the University of Missouri Kansas City where she completed the 6-year combined Bachelors of the Arts and Medical Degree program. Following completion of her medical training, she completed a clinical research fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center where she developed a foundation in project design and implementation. Her residency training in comprehensive Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery was done at University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Hamill then pursued fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstruction at the University of Kansas Medical Center and joined the KUMC faculty in 2023 after completion of her fellowship. Dr. Hamill is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and offers comprehensive otolaryngology services with an emphasis on treating mucosal, cutaneous, and salivary malignancies. She serves as a member of the multidisciplinary cancer team and is trained in microvascular reconstruction and robotic surgery. Dr. Hamill also serves at the Kansas City VA hospital as well as Truman Medical Center.
Dr. Hamill is passionate about resident and medical student education and in 2021, her efforts were recognized by our national American Academy of Otolaryngology –Head and Neck surgery (AAO-HNS) with the prestigious Henry McCurdy Leadership Award. This award was established in 2011 by AAO-HNS to honor Henry McCurdy’s contribution to the society and is given to one chief resident per year who embodies his passion for leadership, resident education, and mentoring.
