Philip G. Chen, MD, is a tenured Professor in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Health San Antonio, and Vice Chair of the Department. He also serves as Associate Chief Medical Officer of Perioperative services for the UT hospital.
Dr. Chen is heavily involved in medical student and resident education. Resident education is also one of his primary areas of research, with special interest in simulation and anatomy. He is also interested in surgical ergonomics and antibiotic stewardship. He has lectured internationally and authored multiple publications and book chapters. He also serves as an Associate Editor for a peer reviewed journal.
