Francis L. Lederer Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
Dr. Sims attended Yale College, Yale University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. After a research fellowship at NIH in Neurolaryngology and Voice Disorders, he completed a clinical fellowship in Laryngology and Care of the Professional Voice at the Vanderbilt Voice Center. He is currently the Francis L. Ledere Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois, Eye and Ear Infirmary. He was appointed during the Obama Adminstration to the advisory board for the National Institute on Deafness and Communication Disorders. Areas of expertise include Neurolaryngology, Gender Confirmation Voice Procedures, Laryngeal Robotic Surgery and Performing Arts Medicine. In addition to clinical work, he is Faculty Lead for the Anti-Racism Curriculum Development and Anti-Racism Tutors Program
